How to find good deals on Vinted: 9 methods resellers use

The best listings do not stay online for long. What makes the difference is not luck, it is how you search. Here are nine concrete methods resellers use.

1. Search precisely, not broadly

Scrolling the feed at random is the slowest way to find a deal. Start from a tight search instead: one category, one size, one condition, one price range. Fewer results, but results you can judge at a glance.

Build a short list of searches you know by heart, by brand or type of item, and come back to them often instead of starting new ones every time.

2. Think like a seller in a hurry

Many sellers write their title in seconds. They do not use the words you type:

  • Misspelt brands and models.
  • Vague terms: “brown jacket”, “white trainers”, “leather bag”, no brand.
  • Synonyms and translations: “jacket” instead of “coat”, “sneakers” instead of “trainers”, or the seller’s own language.

Fewer buyers see these listings, so they sell more slowly, and sometimes for less.

3. Spot badly presented listings

A dark photo, an item photographed in a heap, the wrong category: any of these can make a good piece go unnoticed. Learn to recognise a fabric, a cut or a label even in a poor photo, and ask for more photos before you buy.

4. Buy in bundles

When a seller has several items you like, group them in a bundle. You pay one shipping cost, the fixed part of the Vinted fee is normally shared, and many sellers offer a discount from two or three items.

5. Make offers, politely

The Make an offer button exists for this. A reasonable, polite offer with a reason often works better than a lowball. Work it out from your maximum price, never the other way round, and accept that a no is part of the game.

6. Know your prices by heart

You only recognise a deal if you know the normal price. Keep track of what you buy and what you really resell for, by brand and type of item. Over time you will know at a glance whether a price is interesting.

The riskiest moment is hesitating in front of a listing that has just gone up. To decide fast, decide first: from a cautious resale price and your target margin, work out the most to pay. The maximum purchase price calculator does it for you, Vinted fee and shipping included, and our maximum price guide explains the method.

8. Check before you buy

A deal that turns out faulty is no deal. Before you pay:

  • Read the whole description, and ask for measurements if they are missing.
  • Look at the seller’s reviews and how long they have been on Vinted.
  • For a designer item from €100, from an eligible brand, Vinted’s authenticity check (€10) can be worth it.
  • When the parcel arrives, open it straight away: you only have 2 days to report a problem.

9. Get told at the right moment

An interesting, well-priced listing often goes quickly. Rather than refreshing the page all day, get notified. This is exactly what Vinds is for: you describe what you want in a filter (keywords, sizes, brands, condition, maximum price), and Vinds alerts you on Discord, Telegram or ntfy as soon as a new listing fits.
