Vinted Pro or a personal account: what changes for a reseller
Vinted reserves standard accounts for private individuals. As soon as you resell as a business, Vinted Pro becomes the rule. Here is who it concerns, what it involves, and what changes day to day.
Private individual or professional?
Vinted’s terms are clear: the services are meant for personal use, “and not for professional purposes”, except for Pro sellers. The Vinted Pro guide says it again: every professional must register as a Pro seller.
In practice, regularly buying items to resell them at a profit is a professional activity (see our guide Vinted and tax). Not registering exposes you to penalties under EU consumer law, and Vinted can warn you, remove listings, limit features or block the account.
Signing up for Vinted Pro
Vinted Pro is open to sole traders, associations and registered companies, in France among other countries. You need:
- a 14-digit SIRET number, and a VAT number if you have one;
- the legal representative’s details, and to pass Vinted’s identity checks.
Two options: convert your existing account (with no orders in progress), or open a separate Pro account, with another email address and phone number.
What it costs
According to Vinted, listing on Vinted Pro is free. Your buyers still pay the Vinted fee and shipping, as with a private seller.
